About
A regional nonprofit, built neighborhood by neighborhood
Las Vegas Arbor Society (LVAS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding and protecting urban tree canopy across Southern Nevada. We were founded on a simple premise: the fastest way to green a desert city isn’t a single big park — it’s thousands of residents planting and caring for trees on the streets where they already live.
We operate as a hub-and-chapter model. LVAS holds the nonprofit status, the fundraising infrastructure, the technical know-how, and the region-wide vision. Each neighborhood chapter — starting with the Las Vegas Country Club Estates Arbor Society — brings local leadership, local knowledge, and local labor.
Our Story
LVCCEAS began as a handful of Las Vegas Country Club Estates residents asking why their streets had less shade than neighborhoods built decades earlier. What started as one HOA beautification conversation became the founding chapter of a region-wide arbor society.
What We Believe
- Trees are infrastructure, not decoration.
- Desert-appropriate landscaping and more canopy are not in conflict — low-water species can do both.
- Neighbors are more effective stewards of their own streets than any centralized crew could be.
- Transparency builds trust: every tree we plant is counted and mapped.
